Professor of Marine Geology and Geophysics
Anthony Brian Watts is Professor of Marine Geology and Geophysics in the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford. He received a BSc in Geology and Physics in 1967 from University College, London and a Ph.D in Marine Geophysics in 1970 from the University of Durham.
He has been a post-doctoral fellow at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Canada, a Research Scientist at Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory of Columbia University, and a Professor of Geological Sciences at Columbia University. Professor Watts is a Member of Academia Europae, Fellow of the American Geophysical Union, and recipient of the Rosenstiel Award from the University of Miami and the Murchison Medal from the Geological Society of London. He is author of more than 120 refereed publications.
